Our Favourite Books

This is a list of some of our favourite astrological books. All the comments have been made by group members and express personal opinions.

Stephen Arroyo, Astrology, Karma and Transformation, CRCS Publications, 1978.

"This is the book which first put the "meat on the bones" of astrology for me. The first insights into the inner meanings and real psychological significance of astrology on a personal level, and the first to open me up to the spiritual dimension of astrology. A total gem! Stephen Arroyo's writing style is eminently readable and I would recommend all his books." (Louise)

Liz Greene, Saturn: a New Look at an Old Devil, various publishers and dates.

"What can I say?! For me, the definitive book on Saturn. I know most of us struggle with Saturn (I know, that's the whole point!) but for me particularly…well, suffice it to say, this book was a Godsend!" (Louise)

Robert Hand, Planets in Transit, Whitford Press, 1976.

"This book is something of a bible to me. Whether to look up some future transit or to get a picture of what was happening in retrospect, it has proved itself countless times. A mine of information, especially on the outer planet transits - clear and concise." (Louise)

Michael Harding and Charles Harvey, Working with Astrology: The Psychology of Harmonics, Midpoints and Astro*Carto*Graphy, Penguin Arkana, 1992.

"A very clear guide to the newest and most effective techniques in modern astrology. A good introductory text for those who have mastered the earliest steps in astrology and want to move on to more advanced work." (Ed)

Michael Harding, Hymns to the Ancient Gods, Penguin Arkana, 1992.

"A profound and moving book; thought provoking and passionate. Hymns to the Ancient Gods challenged me to look at astrology in an entirely different way. A vision that is unique and unparalleled in modern astrology." (Ed)

Howard Sasportas, The Gods of Change: Pain, Crisis and the Transits of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, Penguin Arkana, 1989.

"This book got me into astrology. It made me aware of the depth and power of the best work in modern astrology. Howard Sasportas' book may help you to work with the challenging energies represented by Uranus, Neptune and Pluto transits." (Ed)
