Biographical Information for Jill Whitman

I am first and foremost a writer of fiction. Although I have always been fascinated by astrology I only came to it seriously five years ago when one of the characters in my novel mysteriously transformed into an astrologer! Since then I have been reading, writing, thinking and dreaming the subject incessantly in the hope of making a useful contribution to the field.

My primary formative influence was the work of the great psychological astrologers of the 20th century, primarily Liz Greene, whose “Astrology of Fate”, more than any other single work, opened my eyes to the depth of possibility in the discipline. The gift of the grand quintiles has broadened my interests into research, history and astroarchaeology. I am particularly intrigued by the link between metaphysics, cosmology and astrological symbolism as reflected in the Hellenistic origins of the art.

From 2002-04 I served as Secretary on the board of Astrology Toronto Inc. I recently emigrated to London, England where I am studying with the Faculty of Astrological Studies.  I would be delighted with any constructive feedback on this research, which was an arduous but rewarding journey in a direction I believe well worth pursuing. You may reach me by email.

Biographical Information for Ed Gillam

I have been working with astrology since 1992. I was inspired to read Howard Sasportas' book The Gods of Change after finding his obituary in the Independent newspaper. This masterwork was my introduction to the power and potential of astrology.

I am currently enrolled as a Diploma student on the English Huber School's Astrological Counselling course. I have graduated from the Faculty of Astrological Studies with a Certificate award in astrology.

I have written articles for The Astrological Journal and The Mountain Astrologer. In 1996 I established the Exeter Astrology Group in Devon, England, to bring local astrologers together. I have also presented papers at the Annual Conference of the Astrological Association of Great Britain in 1999 and 2000. I am a former Council Member of the Astrological Association of Great Britain.

I have developed a range of specific astrological interests over ten years, including harmonic charts, midpoints, and astrolocation techniques. I also have a keen interest in mundane astrology and the manifestation of astrological cycles in the social and political realm. I am also interested in the interface between Jungian psychology and astrology.

My current work is to develop my understanding of the septile and seventh-harmonic charts. I see the seventh harmonic chart as a map of the deep transformational potential of a moment of time. You may read articles relating to some of these subjects on my site.

If you would like further specific information, please email me. I will be happy to help you with any enquiry about this site or my personal site or astrology in general.
